Introduction
The Gran Sasso Laga ICH website aims to provide a close insight into the intangible cultural heritage of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga area, drawing on field research conducted directly or through the use of sound, audiovisual, photographic, and textual materials made available by other researchers. All such materials are presented within the main sections of the website: the Inventory, Events, Experiences, the Magazine, and the Abruzzo Digital Archive.
The creation of a dedicated digital archive — the Abruzzo Digital Archive — as a distinct section within the portal arises from the recognition, developed over the course of our research, that throughout the Abruzzo region there exist archives, collections, and documentary resources of anthropological and ethnomusicological interest held by public and private institutions, as well as by families and private individuals. These resources are of significant importance for regional cultural memory and require programmes of digitisation, preservation, cataloguing, and dissemination to ensure proper documentation, potential safeguarding, and accessibility for study and public knowledge, with the ultimate aim of generating and multiplying knowledge.
The materials collected and used across the portal derive from earlier research as well as from activities currently supported by the Living Gran Sasso Project of the ATS Unico Gran Sasso — led by the Municipality of Crognaleto (TE). In particular, they are the result of research carried out with the support of the Tramontana Network (Creative Europe) since 2012, as specified on the Credits page of the website.
Copyright and Creative Commons
All contents of the Gransassolagaich website, with particular reference to the Abruzzo Digital Archive — including sound, audiovisual, photographic, and textual documents, descriptive and narrative texts, logos, graphic elements, and software — are protected under copyright and intellectual property laws and may be released either under Copyright (all rights reserved) or Creative Commons (some rights reserved) licences. Unless otherwise specified, contents are subject to Copyright.
Consultation of the Abruzzo Digital Archive database is permitted exclusively for educational, scientific research, or creative purposes, within the limits justified by the non-commercial nature of such use.
Downloading of Materials
Where the download (“reproduction”) of a document or other content published on the website is permitted, duplication is allowed free of charge for exclusively personal, educational, scientific, or creative purposes, with the exclusion of any commercial use (whether direct or indirect, including use within business activities), unless specific authorisation has been granted by Bambun APS. Likewise, without authorisation, modification or alteration of duplicated content is prohibited.
Reproductions, including for commercial purposes, may be authorised where compatible with the institutional objectives of Bambun APS relating to research, documentation, promotion, and enhancement of the anthropological and ethnomusicological heritage of the Abruzzo region. In any case, such use must not prejudice the honour, reputation, or dignity of the persons and contexts represented.
Where download is not permitted, reproduction or duplication of materials — and the related conditions of use — are subject to formal authorisation by Bambun APS. In the absence of such authorisation, permanent or temporary reproduction, in whole or in part, by any means or in any form, of materials and data contained on the Gransassolagaich website, and in particular within the Abruzzo Digital Archive, is prohibited.
For content whose rights are held by third parties, Bambun APS will act solely as an intermediary by putting applicants in contact with the legitimate rights holders, whose materials are made available under licence.
