This is an event created in 2001, aimed at promoting and enhancing a genuine and quality product. The Sagra della Porchetta [Hog Roast Fair] celebrates the local art of the preparation of tasty food, proposed every year by nine hog roast masters from the factories in the territory, gathered in the association “The Masters of Porchetta”: Giampaolo Mercuri, Peppino D’Alberto, the Pallotta Brothers, Adriano Antenucci, the Mercuri Brothers, Gianni De Sanctis, the Di Gennaro Brothers, Lucio Di Stefano and Nicolino Mercuri. Abruzzan porchetta has a centuries-old history handed down in families and within the community according to the ancient recipe, which includes an elaborate and rigorous process of preparing and cooking pork.
